Tom’s Book Nook

Help! I’ve falling behind on my reading goal and can’t get up. That’s why I turned to “The Premonition” by Banana Yoshimoto. I like to browse the new titles at the library and this one was short and had a cool cover. Sometimes that’s all I need to dive in.

I honestly don’t know what to say about this book. It’s about a girl who has a premonition that she is not remembering something important about her childhood.

Waxahatchee - New Haven, CT Toad’s Place April 25th

Ahh Toad’s Place, you dirty ol’ bastard. It’s been awhile. Last night the trek was made to the big city… New Haven, CT. Upon parking the car, I realized I had forgotten my phone which held the sacred tickets. If not for Google’s two-step authentication, I would have been able to access them via my wife’s phone if not for that meddling cyber security. Luckily, I sent the bat signal out to my Mom and she was able to break into our house, hack my phone and share the tickets with us all while we enjoyed some carne asada tacos and the table side guacamole.

Anyways, the show slapped, the band ripped, and I got a cool shirt. I could not recommend seeing Waxahatchee enough on this current tour. I think this is the third or fourth time I’ve seen her perform and her current backing band brings a whole new life to the songs from her past two albums.

This Old House / With Tom

Shout out to mother nature. She is mothering as the kids say. Figure I’d give you a run down of this weekends yard work projects as well as a little bit of what I’ve gotten done today on my day off from the daily grind.

Keeping the raspberry and blueberry bushes warm and refreshed in the greenhouse.

Filled up our new herb garden patio planter with some top soil. Vroom Vroom

Spring cleaned the patio. I am writing this newsletter from under the giant umbrella.

A project for tomorrow… I’d like to dig up some of these peonies and put them somewhere else since this grouping gets very overcrowded once they are in bloom.

Well, that’s all folks.

xoxo, me
