Post #37 - Tokyo Cowboy Yeehaw!

Tokyo Cowboy

I went to the local cinema last Friday night, got myself a scoop of the chocolate caramel pretzel gelato and saw this little gem of a film. A Japanese businessman heads out west to a Montana cattle ranch to try and shake up operations. How do you think the locals will react? What is he running from back in Japan? What will he learn about himself? You know what I am talking about. Anyways, there’s mechanical bull riding, fashion makeovers (cowboy style) and a lot of beautiful landscape shots. I give it a certified Silence is a Killer thumbs up!

I have a really bad habit right now of coming across a new release, adding a song or two off of the album to a playlist and then never going back to listen to the rest of it. So this week I made amends with Wildflower’s LP from back in March. I would describe the music as atmospheric, twangy and ultimately very soothing. The 10 minute long album opener “Seabirds” sounds like early morning waves crashing against the shore. This is recommended headphone listening or to take it to the completely opposite end of the spectrum… this is great background music for reading a book or taking a nap in a hammock. Probably.
