While we’re reminiscing I’d also like to reflect on one year of taking photos with my point and shoot 35mm camera. I’m not sure what came over me but seemingly out of the blue one day I decided to dip my toes into the film photography waters. I bought a camera off of etsy, watched a youtube video on how to load film and started snapping away. Now when I take photos of my dogs I can call myself an artist instead of the average schmuck using their phones.

I don’t know if you all have noticed this or not but at the top of every newsletter post is a photo I shot. Part of my writing process every week is looking through my photos and trying to find one that might impress my dear subscribers but also trying to remember which ones I may or may not have used yet. The problem I run into is that not every photo I get back is killer, in fact there’s often a good bit of filler. Here’s the conundrum I often face… what do you do with the filler though? I’m not posting them on the gram. I am not showing them off to friends and family. I paid money for these though! The roll costs US dollars. It hurts my bank account getting film developed and most importantly it hurts my pride to get these duds sent back to me. Today though, we make lemonade out of lemons. So without further ado, here is some choice garbage for you all. Drum roll pls…
