Post #54 - Sick Trick

It’s the dawning of a new day folks. Today marks the start of a new Film Studies era with the release of my new song “Sick Trick.” Listen and download for free on my Bandcamp page or stream it to your hearts desire. I’ve also made all digital sales pay what you want on Bandcamp because I am a man of the people.

“Sick Trick” was the first song I wrote in a songwriting workshop back in May and when I started putting together my new album it seemed like the right choice for both track one and to be the first single. It’s got a slick riff, a catchy chorus and my signature lyrical stylings. Also, fun fact: It is the first Film Studies song to feature auto-tune on my vocals!

So check it out and let me know what you all think. I’ll also share the original demo below in case you want to see how we got here as well as screenshots of all of my pages and pages of lyrics. To be honest, I don’t always scrutinize my lyrics line by line. I’m really not that precious with them but for this one I did do a lot of rewrites because I really thought the song was good and wanted something that lived up to it. I think we got there.
